Because each person has different interests, personalities, situations, etc., as a result, everyone has a different view of the world. In other words, because they all have different judgments when looking at the world, they are all looking at a different world even if they are placed in the same environment. In this gap, things happen that do not understand each other, which leads to conflict. There are various problems ranging from a small discord with a friend to a large one, such as racial discrimination, generational conflict, and gender conflict. The way to solve this is to put yourself in the shoes of others, which is simple but difficult.

  It is impossible to look at the world through the eyes of others completely without making one's own judgment, so it is difficult to put yourself in the shoes of others. We just keep trying to understand each other in order to build a better society. In order to contribute to the effort, I attempted to visually express ‘putting yourself in someone else’s shoes’, which can be perceived as vague and abstract.

  By expressing it visually, we made it easy to understand the world from the perspective and perspective of others. In this walking simulator, I tried to express how different people look at the environment even in the same environment. Through this attempt, we hope to ultimately contribute to creating a 'harmonious society' where people live based on a deep understanding of each other.

사람마다 관심사, 성격, 처한 상황 등 모든 것이 다르기 때문에 결과적으로 ‘세상을 바라보는 시야’가 모두 다르다. 즉, 세상을 바라볼 때 판단이 모두 다르기 때문에 같은 환경 속에 놓여도 모두 다른 세상을 바라보고 있다. 이러한 간극에서 서로를 이해하지 못하는 일이 생기고 이는 갈등으로 이어진다. 작게는 친구와의 불화에서 크게는 인종 차별, 세대 갈등, 젠더 갈등 등 다양한 문제가 있다. 이를 해결하는 방법은 간단하지만 어려운 ‘타인의 입장이 되어보기’이다.

 스스로의 판단을 완전히 배제한 채로 온전히 타인의 시선으로 세상을 바라본다는 것은 불가능한 일이기에 타인의 입장이 되어보는 것은 어렵다. 우리는 더 나은 사회를 만들기 위해 서로를 이해하려 그저 계속해서 노력할 뿐이다. 그 노력에 일조하기 위해 어쩌면 막연하고 추상적인 일로 느껴질 수 있는 ‘타인의 입장이 되어보기’를 시각적으로 표현하는 시도를 해보았다. 

 시각적으로 표현함으로써 타인의 시각과 입장에서 바라보는 세상에 대한 이해를 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 했다. 이 워킹 시뮬레이터에서는 같은 환경 속에서도 사람에 따라 그 환경을 바라보는 시선이 얼마나 다른지를 표현하고자 했다. 이 시도를 통해 궁극적으로 서로에 대한 깊은 이해를 바탕으로 살아가는 ‘어우러진 사회’를 만드는데 기여하고자 한다.
